Review finding the area and perimeter of composite (irregular) figures with this set of challenging task cards and worksheet!
This bundle includes 12 task cards, in both color and black and white versions, that require students to find the area of composite figures (or the area of the shaded region of figures with "holes" in them). Many of the cards also require students to find the perimeter of the figures, as well. Some of the perimeter problems require the use of the Pythagorean Theorem, so two versions of the recording sheet are provided - one for students who do not know the Pythagorean Theorem and one for students who do know the Pythagorean Theorem. The questions vary in difficulty level.
A worksheet is also included, that contains 8 questions that has students find the area and perimeter of various irregular composite figures. There are two versions of the worksheet - version A is more challenging and requires the use of the Pythagorean Theorem for some of the problems. Version B gives students additional measurements so that the Pythagorean Theorem is not needed for any problems.
This set is perfect for a combination of a classwork activity (task cards) and homework assignment (worksheet) on irregular figures!
