Composing and Decomposing Worksheet Set
- PDF
Description
These worksheets can be used to help students understand the different combinations that make 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. They could be helpful for students to practice subitizing with ten frames. It is also a great way to help students build their understanding of operations (part-part-whole) in the primary grades, especially for students who are not quite ready for the use of symbols like +, -, and =.
This set contains 5 worksheets. Each worksheet contains each of the different combinations that add up to a numeral using ten frames. Each ten frame shows a combination of dark circles and white circles. For example, 3 dark circles and 4 white circles make 7. Students are then supposed to write how many of each circle they see and find the different ways to make 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
The make 6 and 7 pages include a bonus question where students make their own combination.
