Description
This great new set of melodic composition activities has you sorted from beginning to end.
These great activities/tasks are designed to get your young composers writing two note melodies. Depending on your time with students, you might complete only one or two compositions an academic year. There are many options in this document to suit your needs and challenge your young composers.
This pack has m-s and d-m melodic composition activities. Your young composers can work with a given rhythm to write their melody or create their own 4 beat rhythm then compose a m-s or d-m melody.
This download is divided into five “beat” designs: Hearts ♡, Circles 〇, Squares ☐, Grids and Staves. Choose whichever works best for your teaching style .
The full page task/portfolio sheets should go into special work/portfolio folders or sent home. These make great conversational pieces for parent meetings and learner-led discussions.
Use the marking grids and reflection questions to aid the young composer in their development. The peer assessment sheets aid the listening process and provide for constructive feedback amongst the composers. Those in PYP schools will find this is a real treat for a portfolio task.
