Description

This is a great lesson to use to breakup reading A Long Walk to Water for 7th graders. I play the first few minutes of the film, The Good Lie, and then have students compare and contrast using literary devices as a lens. I have the students work in partners in order to brainstorm after playing the clip once allowing them to take notes and then a second time the following day when they have a more focused approach. I have students submit their final answers to me via a Google Doc to avoid the messy handwriting or classwork/notes and to have them develop their answers more fully.
