Description
There are so many community helpers that deserve recognition from us and our students. Labour Day or Labor Day is a national holiday in many countries that recognizes all the community helpers that work hard for us.
Sometimes it is challenging to teach these important topics in a special education class. So I thought it would be beneficial to create an Adapted Book for Special Education with simple descriptions and pictures of community helpers such as sanitary engineers, electricians, teachers, and more! It is then followed up with a reading comprehension page where students can draw a line connecting the community worker and a picture that indicates their job.
This activity can be printed and laminated to be kept at school, photocopied and sent home when completed or even posted on a bulletin board for other students to flip through and learn something new in the hallway!
