This is an amazing resource for any 4th grade teacher! I created this resource from two angles. First, as a teacher. When I’m out, I want to know my students are busy (engaged students seldom create behavior problems!), but I also want to know that the work they are doing is meaningful. Like every other teacher out there, I never thought I would need emergency sub plans. However, I ended up needing them. While I had them, they were sub par and didn’t align to the Common Core Standards so my students lost a week worth of practice/Instruction. Second, as a substitute. When I first moved out to Georgia, I worked as a substitute until a teaching position opened up. I have included everything in this file that I wished I would have had as a substitute!

Management Pages (Resources for the Substitute)
Morning Work (One week’s worth )
Math (One Week’s worth of numbers and operations practice. I chose Numbers and Operations so you know your students are getting PRACTICE and not instruction. A lot can go wrong when students are learning new skills from someone that is not YOU. (Call me a control freak all you want!)
Reading ( 6 literature/informational organizers that can be used with any book/text)
Grammar (One week’s worth of activities) 5 practice activities and two riddle pages for early finishers. I have included 3rd grade standards as review for the days you are gone. (Parts of Speech)
Writing (6 Writing Organizers and Prompts)
Social Studies (Film Notes/Book Notes that can be used with any film or book pages)
Dismissal Work ( One week’s worth) I included this because a lot can go wrong at the end of the day– The busier the students, the better! :)
Homework (One week’s worth of Math/Grammar/Reading) Student’s shouldn’t miss a night of homework just because their teacher isn’t there!
“Fillers” - Short activities incase the substitute finds spare time during the day (Which they shouldn’t with this pack!)

This pack is full of resources, fun activities, and work that will keep your students engaged! There is nothing worse than students getting in trouble simply because we were not prepared as adults.
