What educators are saying

The perfect resource to track student grades this school year. I love that we can add students names and edit as needed.

Description

I designed these editable Second Grade Checklists of Common Core Standards to help you organize and track your students' progress and mastery of all 2nd grade Math and ELA Common Core State Standards. The set includes both whole class and individual student CCSS Checklists for 2nd Grade Math and 2nd Grade Language Arts.

View my blog article, TRACKING STUDENT PROGRESS for detailed instructions on how to use the checklists

I left this download in PowerPoint format, so you are able to insert your students’ names in the editable text boxes, instead of having to write them out by hand. To keep it editable, you must download it on a desktop computer with PowerPoint.

*NOTE: ONLY THE STUDENT NAME TEXT BOXES ARE EDITABLE.

I have provided two types of Common Core Standards Checklists, whole class checklists and individual student checklists. The first are the class lists, which allow you to enter your class roster and check off mastery by each student for every math and ELA standard. These class checklists give you a quick overview of who has mastered particular standards you have taught and who is still in need of mastery.

The other checklists, the individual student checklists, will help you determine mastery of each standard for every individual student. These checklists are meant to be copied and organized (in individual data folders, notebooks, or whatever works for you) for every student in your class. They are comprehensive and detailed, breaking down each Common Core Standard into its parts, so you are better able to see and understand, specifically, what should be taught and what the student is expected to know. As you are teaching a particular standard, you can check off each part that is taught and learned by each student until all parts are mastered, then check it off as mastered on both the individual checklists and the class checklists.

Add the checklists to your teacher or assessment binder for a variety of uses:

-track which resources you’ve taught

-track whole class and individual student progress and mastery

-plan for and track RTI

-plan for differentiation

-write IEP goals

-reference for grade reporting

-curriculum mapping/long-term planning

-other uses you may discover!

This product is the perfect companion to other Common Core resources, such as my Monthly NO PREP Printables and especially my Common Core Morning Work for first and second grades. Simply find each standard that is addressed and check them off when completed and mastered.

Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Measure the length of an object twice, using length units of different lengths for the two measurements; describe how the two measurements relate to the size of the unit chosen.
Estimate lengths using units of inches, feet, centimeters, and meters.
Measure to determine how much longer one object is than another, expressing the length difference in terms of a standard length unit.
Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems involving lengths that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as drawings of rulers) and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
