Common Core Rubrics: 2nd Grade ELA & Math

This is a set of 2nd grade rubrics aligned to the common core standards. There is a rubric for every ELA and Math standard. Because of the new common core standards, I was having a hard time grading my students when it wasn’t a paper and pencil test. Having these rubrics will be handy because I can grade my students in small groups, during a hands-on activity, or just based on observation! There are two rubrics on each page with the same standard. I found it easier to use a half sheet of paper than a whole sheet. ALL rubrics have the same simple and generic scale with a kid-friendly description of each score. The rubrics are not specific to each standard. I found that having a generic rubric all around will be easy to explain to your kiddos. It will give parents a clear and concise idea if their child has met the learning goal/standard. The rubrics also include the standard strand, the standard/learning goal, a space to fill out the type of assignment, and a space for comments. I hope you find these rubrics useful.
