Description

This colorful poetry resource can be used to teach figurative language and strategies for writing color songs, letters, and poetry about colors. I used the following books to provide examples of how colors can represent emotions, feelings, and things in nature:
Red Sings From Treetops by Joyce Sidman
Hailstones and Halibut Bones by Mary O’Neill
The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt
One by Kathryn Otoshi
I also used the song “Red” by Taylor Swift to inspire my students.
