    Description

This BUNDLE includes 6 PDF files of COLOR theory, color mixing and color schemes lesson worksheet activities. You will download a zip folder that contains all the items.

    Activity 1: Color Mixing Chart:

Learn to mix all the colors! Show your students what happens when all the colors mix. It's a great way to learn about color theory through application. This is a printable PDF file that allows students to learn about color theory and color mixing as them mix all the colors together and mix them with black, white and gray. It works GREAT with colored pencils, but can also be used with any color media such as oil pastel, pastel, tempera paint, acrylic paint, markers etc.

Activity 2: Color Schemes Worksheet Version 1:

A handy worksheet in PDF format for middle school, high school, homeschool or even adult students to learn quickly the various color schemes available for them. This worksheet includes Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Split-Complementary and Double Split-Complementary Schemes. Students will use colored pencils or fine markers to color in the designs using only the colors from the particular color scheme they are using. They will need several colors of pencils as well as black, white and/or gray pencils. It would be helpful to discuss the layering and mixing of colored pencils to create tints/shades before this worksheet. Click this link to see my YouTube video explaining how to use this to my class.

Activity 3: Color Schemes Worksheet Version 2:

Same as Version 1 above, but with Warm, Cool. Diadic, Square, Analogous + Complement, and Triadic + Complement Color Schemes.

Activity 4: Mandala Style Color Wheel:

A Color Wheel Practice worksheet in an adult coloring book/mandala style. Great for more practice with tints and shades.

Activity 5: Primary Color Only Color Wheel

Teach students to create all 12 colors from the color wheel with just the 3 primary colors! This is a printable worksheet activity in PDF format for middle to high school art students. This is a handy template to use to get students to understand how they can mix all 12 colors of the color wheel using only the three primary color colored pencils! It shows them YYYY for all yellow and then YYYR for yellow-orange, etc. It helps them understand how the color wheel works. I use it as the first color wheel with my Art 1 students each semester. I demo how to layer and mix colored pencils with burnishing before they begin. It typically takes them about 30 minutes to complete.

Click this link to watch my YouTube video explaining how to use this for my class.

Activity 6: Color Wheel with Tint, Hue, Shade and Tone.

Teach Color Theory with this color wheel worksheet. Students will mix all the colors of the color wheel with black, gray and white to create shades, tones and tints of each color.

A convenient and user friendly worksheet in PDF format for use with middle or high school students learning Art Theory. The worksheet includes a key to inform students about where to place the Hues, Tints, Tones and Shades and gives them the information they need to complete this. They could use various art media with this, but I typically use it with colored pencils.
