What educators are saying

This was a great end-of-book project. We did something similar with Scrooge after reading A Christmas Carol, so students were already familiar with the process and were good at finding text evidence.
Great activity to be used at the end of the novel. My students loved creating a visual representation of Cole's changes.

Description

This project requires students to demonstrate in what ways Cole has transformed over the course of the novel, Touching Spirit Bear.

First students justify in what ways Cole has changed using evidence from the text. Then they must decide how to best SHOW his transformation by creating a visual poster. On the poster students must justify why they have included certain symbolic elements and list what these elements say about Cole.

Included are:
A pre-work evidence worksheet
An assignment description page
2 student examples (including one ESL example)
