Coin Values Money Game
Description
This two-player board game combines coin recognition and strategic thinking in a delightful format that promises hours of fun. An educational money game for first and second-graders called "Coin Capture"!
Object of the Game: In "Coin Capture," players aim to uncover hidden coins on the board by lifting plastic-covered shapes. The objective is to collect the most money by strategically revealing and capturing pennies, dimes, and nickels while outwitting their opponent.
How to Play: Each player starts with a unique set of tokens and two quarters. The game board features 12 heart shapes. Conceal a coin on each heart with a cover such as a plastic heart. Players lift covers, reveal coins, and replace the space with their tokens. Be cautious! Lifting a cover with your opponent's token or your token requires you to "pay" a penalty to your opponent.
Purpose: "Coin Capture" is designed for first and second-graders who have mastered coin identification (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter) and understand the value of each. The game offers an interactive way to reinforce these skills through hands-on play, strategic decision-making, and friendly competition.
Fun and Student Accountability: The game ends when a player uses all his tokens. He gets the bonus of unveiling the plastic hearts from the board and collecting any remaining money. Students record their "captured" coins on a recording sheet. They then count and total their money. The winner is the player with the highest total.
