What educators are saying

My students loved using this! They were engaged and had no trouble getting started. It also didn't take much time to prepare so it was easy for me to use in a time crunch. I will definitely be buying more!
I loved doing this activity with students and having them monitor their inner dialogue/thought processes. Thank you!

Description

This is a big statement to make, but out of EVERYTHING in AP Psychology this is my favorite topic and activity. The students read a list of 50 cognitive distortions and highlight the irrational thoughts that apply to them. They come up with real life situations that apply to a few distortions and they keep a thought record on one of their chosen cognitive distortions for a week. There is a perfect connection between this activity and the discussion of CBT in clinical psychology. My students always ask if they can keep this worksheet!
