What educators are saying

I loved the poster print option, it made it easy for me to print and laminate for class for same day use. Some of the task cards are not on the poster print but those were easy to remove from the stack. The task cards would be best with Kinder-2nd, they were a little too easy for 3rd graders.
Thank you for sharing! My students used this resources to take the beebots trick or treating. It was a great introduction to coding.

Description

Trick or Treat around Halloween Town is a fun way to introduce coding with the Bee-Bot, Code and Go Mouse Robots, Dash and Dot and others and reinforce learning about algorithms! It is easily adaptable and differentiated so Kindergarten through the upper elementary grades can learn coding and simple algorithms by selecting a picture task card and finding it on their mat!

Younger students will learn to code the robot to go forward, backward, turn right and left, while older students can use their skills to explore new ways to code their robots more efficiently. With the addition of Single Picture Task Cards, Multiple Picture Task Cards, Word Task Cards and Obstacle Cards, the challenges become even harder. These activities will spark your students' critical thinking skills in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.

Halloween Trick or Treat Coding Activities are ideal for:

  • Individual Classrooms
  • STEM Labs
  • Computer Technology Labs

Included are:

  • Halloween Town Mat with assembly and printing instructions
  • 30 Unique Individual Mat Tile Cards for both Bee-Bots (15 cm) tiles and Code and Go Mouse (12 cm) tiles.printing instructions. This allows you to create differentiated mats to meet the needs of all your students.
  • 2 Levels of Student Planning Sheets to accommodate different grade levels and learners
  • 29 Single Picture Task Cards ideal for younger students and beginners - they will use the task card to locate the identical building in Halloween Town.
  • 7 Double Picture Task Cardscontain two images, thus creating the need for a longer and more complicated algorithm
