Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Book Companion | PRINT & DIGITAL | Special Ed

These differentiated activities were created to go along with the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett. Students will have the opportunity to complete a story web, create a Silly Weather Forecast, and answer questions about seasonal clothing. This resource comes with Digital activities to use with Google Slides™ and Print versions of each activity! All activities have two levels of differentiation to meet your students needs! Great for special education and elementary classrooms. Printed activities come in color and black/white versions.

Activities Included in both Print and Digital Google Slides:

• Meatball Story Web
• Silly Weather Forecast
• “What should you wear?” questions

Levels of Differentiation

• Level 1 - Independent
  • Students will answer each question on the story web by writing a response on the lines provided. (Typing response in Digital Version)
  • Students will fill in the blanks to create a Silly Weather Forecast. (Typing response in Digital Version)
  • Students will write a sentence to answer the “What should you wear? questions. (Typing response in Digital Version)

• Level 2 - Assisted with Picture Choices
  • Students will answer each question on the story web by cutting and pasting the correct answer in the space provided. (Drag and Drop response for Digital Version)
  • Students will cut/paste error-free pictures to complete a Silly Weather Forecast. (Drag and Drop response for Digital Version)
  • Students will color the correct picture to answer “What should you wear?” questions. (Drag and Drop response for Digital Version)

To access the DIGITAL activities, you will click a link in the PDF. You will be prompted to make your own copy for your personal Google Drive™. You can then assign students the activity in your Google Classroom™ by making a copy for each student. Please note: When you assign the activity in Google Classroom™, be sure to select “make a copy for each student” so students can interact with the slides.

***Please Note: These activities are for Google Slides™. In order for students to interact with this resource, the slides must be in EDIT MODE. This activity will not work properly if the slide is in Present Mode. Directions for each slide are in the speaker notes at the bottom of the slide.***
