Description

Classroom Procedures Manual

Using a classroom procedures manual has been such an important part of my classroom. I have been editing the procedures therein for over a decade. Each year, I find myself changing or tweaking some little thing to help my classroom run more smoothly. It acts as my classroom management plan and guide for the first weeks of school. My students are always know how I want them to carry out procedures and can be self-sufficient. Writing down all of my procedures and then sharing them systematically with parents and students keeps me accountable to others. As a human, we all tend to let things slide as we become more comfortable. My procedures manual is a great way for me (and my class) to revisit procedures after long breaks or as issues arise. I also leave it for substitutes as a reference! No more “we do it this way” or confused sub notes.

First, I review procedures with students and then have them share with parents and return with a signature. However, you could decide to only share with students. My students keep their procedures as a reference in their homework folder.

Since I know that my procedures only really work 100% for me, I made this resource editable. You will receive two versions of the resource. One with all of my working and routines (no need to reinvent the wheel). One with blanks for you to fill in from scratch (in case my procedures are too distracting). Both files are PowerPoint format without any fancy clipart. This way you can edit every part of the documents.

I have changed the text color to red for any information that I felt was specific to my teaching assignment, including my name.

I have included easy to follow instructions and diagrams for printing and assembling your manual.

Booklet is divided into sections. If you decide to make extensive changes, changes to the section headings might be necessary.

•Sections:
•Cover and Introduction
•Pages 1-2 Classwork, Grades, Report Cards, Volunteer Work
•Page 3 Special Events
•Page 4-6 The Basics: First Day Procedures (waiting in gym, lining up, hallway, morning routine, restroom, dismissal)
•Page 7 Classroom Management Plan (Take-a-Break)
•Pages 8-9 Curriculum (Reading and Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Everything Else)

•Pages 18-20 Odds and Ends (electronics, toys and supplies from home, classroom visitors, Interns, videoing lessons/teacher guests, student portfolios/art projects , disclaimer)
•About the Teacher
•Parent and Student Signatures

Note: If you want the fonts in the book to look like the ones in the picture, you will have to download them (all free for personal use). Fonts are listed in the document. Additionally, since the pages are organized in a half page format, sections will appear out of order on the slides. Simply utilize the provided contents and page numbers as you plug your procedures into the document.

Color in preview file is for emphasis. This is an entirely black and white resource.
