What educators are saying

I love this resource it was easy to type in my students gaols, I just wish changing the color was easier. For some reason I have trouble with it.

Description

Doing goal setting in my classroom has been a game changer! We all have things that we can improve on and when students are reminded each day of their goals and areas that need improvement, they become more conscientious of their habits that they want and need to change.

We don’t just set these goals, display them, and walk away. Students recite their goals daily. During morning meeting each day, after we review our classroom rules, each student is called on to state their goals. I love this daily component in my classroom because it has been so meaningful and my students have shown so much success with it. As they master each goal we draw a line through it with a sharpie and celebrate their success. We eliminate and add goals as needed.

Goals can be anything from academics to behavior; anything the student wants or needs to work on from not giving up, using their words, keeping their chair legs on the floor, raising a reading score, not blurting out, etc. When students are reminded each day of their goals by reciting them, they become more conscientious and strive to improve and reach the goal.

When reciting daily, students memorize them very quickly! It makes me proud when administrators or other visitors come into my room and my students can state their goals. They are always impressed.

This set includes everything you need to make your own editable goal wall. It includes the "Our Goals" banner in two versions (the blue trimmed banner shown and a multi-colored rainbow trimmed banner) and the editable goal posters you can customize for each student.

If you don't want to display on a bulletin board or wall, you could also have students keep them in their desk or in a folder.

YOU WILL NEED POWERPOINT TO EDIT THIS FILE.
