Classifying Angles: 24 Task Cards

Included in this set are 24 task cards that ask students to classify angles, a recording sheet, and an answer key. These cards are NOT to scale! Each card in this activity has a picture of an angle or gives students an actual angle measure (I.E 62degrees). Students will classify each card as representing an acute, obtuse, right or straight angle.

There are multiple ways I use task cards in my classroom. Sometimes I have students pair up, sometimes I have students work alone. For this activity I would suggest having students sit in rows of 2. Each group should start out with a task card. After answering the question on the task card (should take 1-2 minutes) each group should stand up and scoot down to the next card. Cards should stay in their original spot the entire time! If you would prefer not to have your students move, you can have them pass the task cards, but personally I have found students get more excited about an activity when they are able to move around (even if they are just moving down 1 seat!). Another way to play would be to play a game I call Speed Math. (Directions can be found as a free product in my store!)

There are 2 versions of the card. 1 set has QR codes, 1 set does not. QR codes are a great way for students to check their own work. Students can use a QR code scanner to scan the QR code which will show them the answer to the problem on the task cards. There are many free QR code scanners available for download. I use the "ScanLife" on my android phone. ITunes also has many scanners available.
