Class Journal Writing Prompts

In my French 4 and 5 classes (probably could also be used in 3), my students complete monthly class journals. I have pasted one of these prompts to the inside cover of a journal. Each month the students are each assigned a journal to take home. So, each week a new student adds an entry to the journal addressing the prompt. Hopefully, the students will be motivated to read what their other classmates have written, so the activity will provide reading practice as well as giving the students an opportunity to push their creativity and language skills to respond to the prompt. This is the only out of class writing, and complements timed writes and fluency writes that we complete in class.
