Description
Help teach about local government by creating a mock City Council in your classroom. Students learn about the position of a city council member and the Mayor and decide which position they would like to run for. Students write a speech, present their speech and peers vote and elect their Classroom City Council. Those who are not appointed a position brainstorm "problems" within the classroom and their plan to improve the situation. They then present their proposal to the city council and Mayor and they vote to approve the class proposal. The students LOVE this every year! Enjoy!
