What educators are saying

This resource was perfect for my mini lesson. I didn't need to modify anything. The lesson was perfect for my standards.
It is difficult to find CER resources that I can use in my ELA classroom. I was able to adapt to use in my class.

Description

I created this to go with my unit on Argument Writing. Students need to be able to understand how an author makes a claim. They also need to understand the difference between reasons and evidence. I give explanations and examples of each, and I also provide 4 different examples of claims with a reason and evidence for each.

For my students, I added another slide where I put a short article I found online on the left and a note taking side on the right where they need to write the claim, reasons, and evidence :)
