Description

This packet includes the following:

• Worksheet on the Constitution and the 3 Branches of Government (pictured in the preview)

• Basic Information about the Constitution (when it was written and the Preamble)

• Bill of Rights Fill in the Blank Page

• Answer pages for the worksheets above

• 3 Branches of Government Lapbook/Notebook activity (cut and paste) and title pages (pictured in the preview)

• 5 Pages of Civics Review Question Cards (with QR Codes). Sample questions include: What stops one branch of government from becoming too strong? What are the three branches of government? How many U.S. Senators are there? What is the biggest/smallest state? What national park has geysers, hot springs and other natural features?

• Civics Review Answers -- There are a number of written pages for those who don't want to use a QR Code reader. One set of answers can be glued to the back of the cards or used to match the question cards with these answers. Another set of answers has the Question AND the Answer (again for those who don't want to use a QR Code Reader)

• An information/teaching sheet about the Cabinet with basic information about the Cabinet, the departments, order of succession.

• A blank Cabinet page where students can write in where the President, Vice President and Cabinet members sit when they gather around the oval table.

• Matching page of Cabinet Departments and the description that goes along with it. For example, Department of State - the department responsible for international relations; Department of the Treasury - manages federal money by collecting taxes, paying bills and managing currency, public debts, and government accounts

• Answer sheet for educators of the Department and the description used (in the matching page above)

• Matching Cards: Match the cabinet position and the description

• Teacher information page: The Cabinet positions in George Washington's Cabinet

• How a Bill Becomes Law -- Blank page for students. Teacher information page

• State Government -- 3 branches of the state governments (Executive Branch--governor; Legislative and Judicial Branches) This page is generic enough that it can be used with any state. It has students research and find out their state capital, about the types of taxes levied in their states, three large cities, etc.

• Our Government Section: Student worksheet to introduce the students to our Federal, State and Local Governments

• What Does Our Government Do? Student chart: What services do our Federal, State and Local governments provide for us? This is a blank chart that students can fill in regarding transportation, money, health, security/safety, justice, education, parks, etc. Older students can do their own research, but there are also teacher information pages providing information for teachers.

• Teacher information pages covering the responsibilities and services provided by our Federal Government, State and Local Governments... These pages provide information about what service is provided on the national level (for example, aviation safety), state (for example, state licensing) and what is provided on a local level (for example, public works).

• Student page: How does the government get the money it needs to run?

• Teacher page: How does the government get the money it needs to run -- This page provides teachers with information about tax revenue, fines & penalties, etc.

• Student page: What kinds of taxes are there?

• Teacher page: Provides information about 6 major types of taxes and briefly mentions several others.
