Description

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to get your students practicing with MLA citations? This game will have your students practicing both citing and embedding quotations while having fun! Answer keys with "teacher tips" will support students as they practice these critical skills.

What's included:

1. A "When Punctuation Takes a Vacation" game board.

2. Game directions with mini-lessons for students.

3. Student answer sheet

4. Four types of game cards:

- "Cite it!" game cards help students practice creating the proper parenthetical citation for all types of writing and sources. This includes citing dialogue, poetry, websites, magazines, newspapers, and book sources.

- "Signal it!" game cards help students practice leading into the quote with the appropriate information. The "Signal it!" guide sheet will provide students with 14 example signal phrases.

- "Paraphrase it!" game cards will help students practice the art of paraphrasing without plagiarizing! Students will give the author credit through their parenthetical citations!

- "Delete it!" game cards will help students select the best parts of a quotation to include within their writing while using the ellipses tool to delete the unnecessary information.
