Description
Are your students researching and gathering sources online? Then they'll need to make citations for a works cited page! With this minilesson, you'll first introduce the format and purpose of MLA citations, as well as a model Works Cited page. Then, students will learn how to locate a source's details to determine its credibility, which will be used within the citations. Finally, students put their practice citations into an alphabetized list to create a practice bibliography. An exit slip is provided that asks students to reflect on their learning to wrap up your lesson.
The practices in this resource include unscrambling citation parts, drag-and-drop activities, and scaffolded research with sample questions and sources. This resource is intended for grades 6-9, but can be modified as needed! *Please note that this minilesson focuses only on citing digital articles/websites.
