What educators are saying

I really like these circuit trainings. They are challenging and motivating for students because they are self-checking. Thank you!

Description

Give your students engaging practice with the circuit format! This circuit contains 24 equations; students will have to find dy/dx using the power rule ONLY. No product, no quotient, no chain, no trig, no transcendentals. Nevertheless, this is not an easy circuit! Students will have to do a fair bit of algebraic manipulation either before or after taking the derivative.

To advance in the circuit, students must search for their answer and this becomes the next problem. Students continue in this manner until they come back to the beginning. This element of self-check is essential! My students do not get up when the bell rings if they are working on a circuit. They also say things like, "I would do all of my homework if it were all circuits!"

There is no answer key since the answers are embedded in the circuit. My colleagues and I check our work very carefully, but if you ever find a mistake or get stuck, please do not hesitate to email me at virginia.cornelius@gocommodores.org.
