My students LOVE writing poetry. Writing a cinquain is one of their favorite poetry forms.
This download includes:
- A cinquain poetry template with detailed directions, an example of a "cinquain" to guide your students' writing and provided lines to give students an opportunity to write their very own "sloppy copy" of a creative cinquain.
- As a bonus or extra activity, they can copy their brand-new cinquain onto a clean sheet of paper and illustrate.
If you want to grade this assignment, I've included a RUBRIC.
This would serve as a great word work or creative writing center, and published poems would create a lovely bulletin board to display.
