Cindy: As Perfect as Possible

Perfectionism is a big issue for Cindy. I call it the “Duck Syndrome." So, what is the Duck Syndrome? Visualize a duck gliding along the water. She looks very serene, calm, and pleasant. Then, look under the water and she is paddling frantically. Too many girls on the outside are appearing calm, cool, and collected while on the inside they are completely stressed out. Like Cindy, they continue to smile and never show weakness. They want to have it all – to be the great student and athlete, to be popular with the boys and well-liked. But what price do they pay? Cindy has created a recipe for disaster by transforming her life into an ugly state of unattainable expectations. All this does is lead to further anxiety, depression, and unhealthy habits.
