What educators are saying

I love the variety of tasks provided. This is a great way to allow the kids some freedom while also keeping them on task. Thanks!

Description

Chrome Music Lab music centers are the perfect way to give your students the excitement of creative freedom while still giving them enough structure to stay focused! Students will have a blast exploring musical concepts like high and low, mood and music, and more while exploring up to 40 different task cards utilizing 10 Chrome Music Lab experiments. Music centers let students take the driver’s seat in their learning - and give you a well-deserved break too!

Chrome Music Lab is easy to use; it’s a free website that offers a variety of different musical experiments and doesn’t require a log-in! All you need is at least one laptop or tablet per center and you’re good to go!

These task cards, designed to be used with Google Drive or printed, will guide students through a variety of musical concepts ranging from harmonic progressions, aural skills, high/low, conveying emotions through music, and more! Each slide includes hyperlinks to the relevant Chrome Music Lab experiment to help your students navigate easily. These aren’t “just” music centers; they are designed with cross-curricular connections in mind, with tasks that explicitly connect music with subject areas like English/language arts/reading, math, and science - for example, the science of sound.

With 40 options to choose from, you can opt to let students explore as they wish or narrow it down to just a few per class. With just 5 centers per class, this pack gives you 8 classes’ worth of material!

Task cards are included for the following experiments (quantities in parenthesis):

✅ Song Maker (18)

✅ Spectrogram (3)

✅ Sound Waves (1)

✅ Kandinsky (7)

✅ Piano Roll (2)

✅ Oscillators (2)
