Description

Christmas Story Writing Idea Kit + beginning, middle and end story writing graphic organizer. Great creative writing centers.

Included are:

  • 23 character idea flashcards
  • 23 setting idea flashcards
  • 23 problem idea flashcards
  • Story writing template with primary lines
  • Story writing template
  • Good copy template
  • Individual student word bank

How to use:

Print and cut out flashcards. Make 3 piles; characters, setting, problem. Have your student pick one or two of each. For language arts, they can use these ideas to create a story with a beginning, middle and end. Writing templates with primary lines and regular lines are included. This Simple template is to help teach students how to write a story. I gave this to my grade 2 class and we came up with a topic and a title which we all used. I then wrote the first sentence of the 'beginning' on the chalkboard. I then gave the students some time to develop the 'beginning' by writing two more sentences. Repeat this process for the 'middle' and the 'end'.

As a teacher, you are guiding the students on how to develop a story and this product helps you do that easily with no prep! No more, "I do not know what to write". The students will be able to be guided and generate ideas based on the flashcards.
