What educators are saying

This was a great project. A different type of business students were not aware of. It was very interesting to hear there ideas on it. Great way to make money around the holiday. Very student engaging. Loved it.
My students do market day the first semester. If for some reason they miss the 2 days - then this is their activity to complete on their own time. It's a great activity for in class as well. Thank you

Description

This Business of Holiday Markets digital resource is a Business & Entrepreneurship Lesson. This file is an ENGAGING and ATTRACTIVE Google Slide File (or convert to Microsoft PowerPoint). A great business education lesson to do before the Christmas/Hanukkah/Winter break while still teaching engaging marketing and entrepreneur lessons in your Marketing, Introduction to Business (Essentials), and Entrepreneurship classes. Let's face it...it's hard to keep students engaged between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks...this activity will be your saving grace!

This file will take about 3.5 hours of class time to complete as well as additional time for great/rich class discussions. If creating the 3-D project, allow an additional hour or two.

Perfect for a Marketing Class, Intro to Business (Essentials) Class, or Entrepreneurship Class!

Concepts learned in the Lesson File:

  • What are the benefits of selling at a Holiday Market? Why do it?
  • What is a POS system? What does POS stand for?
  • What is a SKU? What does SKU stand for?
  • What are the costs and economics of a holiday market?
  • WebQuest for terms: Assets, Expenses, Inventory, COGS (Costs of Good Sold), and Inventory Turnover
  • …and MUCH MORE!

Also includes a Holiday Pop-Up project that can be created with a shoebox or digitally on their computers - you decide! ALL graphics and instructions are listed in the file.
