Description

Christmas Figurative Language Memory Game PowerPoint. This digital resource is a Christmas PowerPoint game on figurative language, set up like the game Memory Concentration. This Christmas game provides matching pairs made up of a literary term and its definition on one slide and an example from literature on another slide. A fun December winter thinking activity. All examples are related to Christmas, from such works as A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. Terms used in the game are metaphor, allusion, oxymoron, paradox, symbol, simile and irony. Instructions included, as well as a link to a Christmas music video to watch when the game is completed. To play, click on the number on the board to reveal the card. Click on the number on the card or the arrow button to return to the board. Use PowerPoints in video conferencing or Zoom for remote learning. Share with students in OneDrive and in Teams. Upload to Google Drive and save as Google Slides, and it will automatically convert for use in Google Classroom. It is editable and easy to make adjustments if necessary. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! View in Slideshow mode. Please see preview.
