What educators are saying

These were a nice addition to our studies on the Lunar New Year. We really enjoyed learning more about this holiday and completing the art activity. Thank you!
These projects turned out way better than I hoped! I hung them on our monthly bulletin board and visitors often complimented on how cool they were. Definitely glad I purchased!

Description

Help students learn all the Chinese New Year in a meaningful and engaging way! This resource includes two activities. One activity is a Fact Hunt and Lunar New Year Doodle Infographic Poster. The other activity is an interactive poster filled with research on the Chinese Zodiac.

With these activities, students will learn about history, the Chinese Zodiac, traditions, lion and dragon dances, and the lantern festival. They’ll create a doodle infographic filled with facts and a lion’s head poster perfect for showcasing their learning in a bold way.

About the Fact Hunt & Chinese New Year Infographic

Students will learn interesting facts associated with Lunar New Year while filling in a Chinese New Year Doodle Infographic Poster. They’ll be up on their feet, rotating around the classroom, collecting facts, and learning! The end result is a visually appealing and informative doodle-style infographic poster about the Chinese New Year. Its extra-long size, makes it fun, too!

About the Chinese Zodiac Mini-Research Project and Poster

After students learn about the Chinese New Year, they’ll create a lion’s head poster with facts about the Chinese Zodiac. First, students will conduct mini-research about the zodiac animal associated with the year that they were born. They’ll collect facts about the sign and characteristics that they relate to. Then, they’ll transfer their facts to the lion’s beard or mane. Finally, they’ll color in the lion’s head and beard to make a lively poster filled with the facts that they learned. This project is the perfect way to connect students to the Chinese New Year.

Both resources require students to glue pieces of paper together to create unique final products! They make great classroom displays or hallway art! Also, these activities can be combined and completed as a single lesson or spread over two days.
