What educators are saying
Description
Teach your students that kids can be activists and change the world through the stories of four famous child changemakers: Malala Yousafzai, Kid President, Greta Thunberg, William Kamkwamba.
⭐ This resource will teach your students about activism and social change through nonfiction articles, multimedia and videos, and other websites. This unit is broken up into four children who have changed the world. Students will read a nonfiction biography, watch videos, engage in read alouds with comprehension and critical thinking questions, learn about the person's mission, and reflect on a quote the changer maker said. Students will also enjoy watching inspirational videos and songs relating to the theme. They will come up with a cause that is meaningful to them and draft a plan to make change.
⭐ This unit is cross curricular and integrates reading comprehension, social studies, and writing.
⭐Includes a print and Google Slides digital format. Please note, this unit does include multimedia, so the print version includes scannable QR codes that link to the videos. YouTube videos are a portion of this resource, so please ensure your school allows access to YouTube.
