These plays are just right for first and second graders to read.

Keep them in a center or use for guided reading instruction with an emphasis on fluency and expression.

Other activities to go with Little Red Hen and Chicken Little include:

-Sequencing the story, students cut sentences apart and put together in the right sequence, these makes a great little booklet.

-In my opinion writing activity and lesson learned activity to go with The Little Red Hen story.

-Story elements sheet, where they tell what happened first, next, then and finally and then the ending for the Little Red Hen story.

-Story elements sheet for Chicken Little where students will explain what happened at the beginning, middle and end.

-A great recall activity to go along with the book Plot Chickens by Mary Jane and Herm Auch
