Lab activity where students create a chemical reaction to produce a hollow penny! The results are pretty impressive and the students are interested and surprised to see a hollow penny. Great activity to provide a real-life demonstration of the 4 main reaction types discussed in Chemistry and also nice cross-curricular activity that involves some social studies and economics.
