Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Synopsis:

Charlie Bucket and Grandpa Joe join a small group of contest winners who get to tour the magical and mysterious factory of eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka. Aided by his diminutive Oompa Loompa workers, Wonka has a hidden motivation for the tour, one that he will reveal only after the children in the group (Veruca, Augustus, Violet, Mike and Charlie) show their true personalities.

Included in the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Unit:

251 pages and 30 chapters of sweet story-telling.

21 characters in need of voices + the narrator.

Questions at the end of some chapters.

I have read this story with grades 3-7, with teenagers in my library reading group and with my adult students. I have never met anyone who does not enjoy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It will be read for generations to come and every class you have will enjoy the antics of Wonka, Mike, Veruca, Violet and Augustus. The innocence of Grandpa Joe, Charlie and the Bucket family. I have read this story online and in-class.

I hope your class has a sweet time with Charlie, Willy and the Oompa-Loompas.

Excelsior!
