Challenge That Thought! CBT Based Digital Boom Cards™ Activity

These digital interactive Boom Cards™ are hosted on Boom Learning℠ and focus on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns. More specifically, they aim to assist children to challenge unhelpful thoughts. This is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based activity designed for both children and teens, therefore can be extremely adaptable.

You will get a Boom Card Deck comprising:

• 20 interactive task cards with a situation, unhelpful thought bubble and answer box to type in an alternative helpful thought!
• 2 task cards describing helpful and unhelpful thoughts
• An instruction slide
• A Well-Done! final slide for positive reinforcement
• In total this adds up to a 24 card deck

How does it work?

1. Students will click through each card and read the situation and unhelpful thought bubble
2. They will then think for a moment and type a more helpful thought in the provided box
3. Answers are left open for subjective grading at the end (so they will not get a right/wrong answer - as there can be multiple correct answers)
4. Simple!
