Challenge Box for the child who needs daily challenges to regulate behavior

Every class has at least 1, the student who needs a little more than everyone else. Instead of having to remind them of classroom rules, putting a strain on both yourself and the student why not change your approach and challenge them with the choices that are the most difficult for them. This gives them a sense of autonomy and accomplishment as well as saving you from always being in negative interactions with that student.

Change the rewards to be more appropriate for your classroom and personalize with the students name. Be sure to laminate each card and place in a small box or baggie. Allow student to keep it in his desk, seat sack, or folder. Each morning/afternoon have them privately choose a new challenge.
Present this positively and in secret. The whole class does not need to know what is happening.
