Cereal Box Domino Challenge Community Service Learning Project
Looking for a way to get your students excited about helping your community? In this community service project, students will collect cereal boxes to donate to those in need. But, before donating the cereal boxes, students will create a giant domino chain with the boxes throughout the school. The more cereal boxes donated, the longer the domino chain!
While this project can happen any time of the year, it's a great service learning project for the end of the year so that you can make sure community members in need (including those in your own school) have breakfast for the summer months.
This resource includes everything you need for a successful project. This resource includes:
1. Directions and FAQ's
2. A flyer to send home (PDF fillable form for typing collection dates before printing)
3. Two different signs to post around the school
4. A collection spot sign
5. Reminder bracelets for students to color and wear home
6. Special "double day" challenge flyer (OPTIONAL)
7. School progress sign (for daily updates in a central location in the school)
8. Winners certificate for the team (class/grade) collecting the most cereal boxes
