Ceramic Course Syllabus for High School or Middle School Art Course

Hi Teachers,

This is my Ceramics course syllabus that I use for my high school students. Students will learn how to throw functional forms on the potter’s wheels. They will further explore various hand-building techniques and glaze techniques for use with clay. There are 4 main hand building projects we complete each Marking Period.

Daily investment grade: (I love to implement a daily or weekly points grade to motivate students and make sure the students are actually working to EARN points and ensure they are not sitting around. If students finish an assignment early they can do a class job or assist other students to make sure they EARN their investment grade)
