Students will identify fact and opinion statements.

Description

Students will enjoy learning about caves and caverns, one of nature’s grandest landforms, with these fact and opinions. This unit is perfect for landform lessons and field trips.

This unit includes full color and B&W versions.

* Fact and Opinion Activity: Facts Sorting Header Page, Opinions Sorting Header Page, 28 sorting cards, Facts Recording Sheet and Opinions Recording Sheet

* Graphic Organizers: can/have/are chart, KWL chart, bubble map, and circle map

* Common Noun or Proper Noun?: sorting activity for types of nouns with recording sheet

* Write the Room Activity: 8 vocabulary words on cards for students to locate and write on recording sheet

* Fun Facts: Fun facts about caves are shared. Question cards are provided.

* Cave Chat: write the definitions for cavern, hibernate, tunnel and speleology

* Will You Find Me in a Cave?: sorting activity for students to complete on their own

* Field Trip Forms: I Can Statements and Promise Page to complete before your field trip to cave or caverns. Also included is My Favorite Part of the Field Trip Writing and Illustrating Page to complete after field trip.
