Cave of the Heart (Medea) Viewing Guide and Writing Assignment

This is a viewing guide that students can use to help them analyze the characters, movements, and symbolism used in Martha Graham's dance piece. This is an extension activity for a unit on Euripides' MEDEA. The viewing guide contains a chart for all characters and elements found in the dance, three writing assignment choices, and information on Martha Graham and Isamu Noguchi (set designer). This is a great activity to use if you want to incorporate the arts into your lesson as it uses music, dance, and art.
