"Catching Fireflies" A June/Summer Emergent Reader and Response Dollar Deal

Reinforce sight words, story elements, and writing a response with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Catching Fireflies" mini book practices the sight words look, by, in, the, now, I, have, my, them, and number words to tell the story of Liz and Matt going out at night to catch fireflies. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture of how many fireflies they think they could catch. More advanced writers will write a complete sentence to match their picture. Students will practice identifying characters, setting, and retelling beginning, middle, and end in a flip book. There are two versions. One has just a drawing space, while the other also has writing lines. Students can present their books, once complete!
