Distance Learning: Careers in Statistics Project
Students complete this project by researching careers in statistics and creating a digital report. They select five careers and summarize their characteristics including job description, required skills (such as how statistics are used), education/training, and salary. Students may elect to create a digital poster (EDITABLE 24-inch by 18-inch template in PPTX included) or a short video report. Only want to assign a digital poster or only want video reports? No problem! The instructions are editable (in PPTX).
This project is great for the beginning of the year, for the end of year or before an extended break when you do not want to start a new unit, or anytime you want to answer the question “when will I ever need this?”.
This resource includes:
1) EDITABLE student instructions and rubric/grade sheet in PPTX
2) Student instructions, rubric/grade sheet, helpful hints for teachers, and example poster in PDF
3) EDITABLE poster template (24 inches by 18 inches) in PPTX. These dimensions are proportionate to (but smaller than) those for science fair/research posters.
