Description

Need a quick sub plan for a Life Skills or College and Career Readiness class? Need a real-world and individualized research and analysis project ready to go?

You're in the right place!

My new Career Exploration WebQuest is the resource for you.

This resources includes the following:

  • 4 double-sided guided career research worksheets with mature, but decorative borders.
  • An additional copy of the 4 worksheets listed above, but without the borders, just in case the borders are not your thing.
    • These four WebQuest worksheets are differentiated for various levels of questioning, reading abilities, and complexity of website sources.
    • The first worksheet is the Universal Career Exploration sheet. This can be used with any online career research you want your students to complete.
    • The second worksheet is based on the categories listed in the My Next Move website which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration and developed by the National Center for O*NET Development. This is the one suggested for students who need the most support.
    • The third worksheet is based on the categories on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook. This website has more information given at a deeper level, but is very well organized into tabs therefore it is still easy to navigate. I suggest this worksheet for your middle to higher level students.
    • Finally, the fourth worksheet is based on how the information is presented on the O*NET OnLine website. O*Net is part of the My Next Move family of websites. This website, while containing a lot of valuable information, does not present it in as user-friendly of a manner. However, this WebQuest worksheet would be perfect for your high-functioning students and those who need more of a challenge.
  • I have created questions for each of the four worksheets that also correspond with the differentiated levels and language skills.
  • In addition, I have added higher level thinking questions to help guide students through the thought process of deciding if this career is right for them.
