What educators are saying

I teach a Freshman Success course that involves teaching students how to be "good adults". I purchased these worksheets to get them thinking about what their futures hold. They really enjoyed these and it was such a time saver for me as a newer teacher! Thanks for a great resource!
We have a seminar period for each grade, mine is an 11th-grade group of students. I have tried several exercises like this in the past and I have to say I found this one seemed to really get the students thinking more seriously about their futures. Well organized and thought out.

Description

Help your students think ahead to the future learn about their desired career with this Career & Communication Research Project + Interview. I designed this project for my second-semester seniors in my Technical Communication course so that I could get to know my students and their future careers/goals AND so they could practice essential ELA skills. This mini-unit will take you & your students approximately 7-10 days from start to finish.

For this project, students will practice key writing, research, presentation, and speaking/listening skills by doing the following:

-Writing about why they are interested in their career, how it fits their personality, and what they want to learn

-Researching about the career, required skills, positives and negatives, etc.

-Drafting interview questions and interviewing someone in the field

-Organizing all of their information in a well-designed presentation (slideshow, poster, brochure, etc.)

-Providing an informative, engaging presentation to their peers

-Evaluating their peers so that everyone stays busy and engaged during presentations

When you purchase this product, you will receive the following in 2 print & digital formats (editable PowerPoint & Google Docs/Slides/Forms) so you can choose what works best for you:
