What educators are saying

When introducing a new letter, we first go over the letter formation. I found that doing this is a great start for the student's and makes it easier for them to move on to their tracing papers without any fuss.
I am using this in my 1st grade classroom along with our Bookworms curriculum to teach students 'air-writing'. This has been very successful in teaching them the correct formation of the letters.

Description

Animated Powerpoint with uppercase letter formation rhymes, posters and handwriting worksheets included to help students learn how to form the capital letters correctly. The alphabet rhymes help students remember how to form the letters correctly as they are writing them. The PowerPoint is engaging and encourages students to use whole body movements to write the letters in the air, on a partners back, on the floor or on a whiteboard.

This bundle includes:

  • Animated letter formation PowerPoint slides for all 26 capital letters of the alphabet including 2 different options for i,g and j
  • I have included the PowerPoint slides without the rhyme so that your own chant/ rhyme can be added.
  • Letter formation display posters with a formation chant/ rhyme in Black/ White and colour
  • Letter formation practise worksheets to print off or laminate for write and wipe off option
  • Tracing sheet/ practice mat with all letters of the alphabet on the one page.

I wrote the short sharp rhymes/ chants to be simple so that students could easily remember them to help them write with them. I find that some chants are a bit complicated that refer to things that add to a students cognitive load and make it tricky for them to remember. These rhymes have been really effective in my students handwriting development.

Please see preview pictures for everything that is included in this pack and you can watch the preview video for an example of the PowerPoint.
