What educators are saying

This is an amazing resource! Just print and go. It has everything you need for students to be independent while learning!
Always nice when I can find easy Canadian content to help in my classroom. Money is always a tricky one for my students so I am thankful for this resource!

Description

Canadian Money - Canadian Coins MEGA Math Unit to practice Canadian currency in this fun and differentiated JAM-PACKED unit filled with over 200 pages of everything you need to teach money. This pack covers 3 main standards/concepts: identifying coins (nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, and toonies), adding like coins, and adding mixed coins. From identifying and sorting coins to adding them to money word problems, this has everything you need! Worksheets, games, assessments, everything!

***** 2020 UPDATE *****

This unit now does NOT include pennies! :) (The pennies versions are still included in a separate file if you still want them though)

I have remade all of the worksheets and activities to not include the penny. For those of you who still teach the penny, I left the previous version in there for you so you can still use all the versions of the activities with pennies included too :) I had to do a lot of redesigning of the pages so if you DO teach using pennies and use the old version, I recommend downloading the no pennies version too because there will be new pages for you that you don't already have :) I hope you love them!

This is the coins of Canada version of my best selling money unit using American coins:

U.S. Money Unit

Please check out a huge preview of the unit by looking at the pictures and ideas for the U.S. coin version in action in this blog post:
Teaching Money

to get an idea of the activities you're getting but in a Canadian version :)

I also have this for UK coins, Euros, and Australian coins!

This is structured like my other first grade math units. You can see them here:

First Grade Math Units 1-9 Bundle

First Grade Math Units 10-18 Bundle

This is everything you need to print and go to teach Canadian coins - it will save you so much time! Plus, ALL of your students will be learning and having fun at their own level since everything is already differentiated for you which will make your math planning a breeze!
