This resource is great. However, I could not use it in my art class due to cultural appropriation, which does not allow students to recreate indigenous artwork.

Canadian Indigenous X-Ray / Woodlands Style of Art

Nine templates. One for each grade. (Grades 1-9 or K-8 or let your class have the choice between animals)

- Print on 11x17" paper

Activity: Students make creative response to the works of such Canadian Indigenous Artists as - Norval Morrisseau, Daphne Odjig, Carl Rae, etc.

Background: This X-Ray style originated with Norval Morrisseau, an Anishnaabe shaman artist. He has been credited with creating this X-Ray style of art. Many other Indigenous Artists have been influenced by Morrisseau's Woodlands Style of art. Born in Ontario, Morrisseau's subjects were inspired by Indigenous pictographs (drawings on rock.)
