Canada's Interaction with the Global Community | NGOs

This resource can be done at home (remote learning) or at school using Google Apps for Education (GAFE).

Students are asked to choose an NGO that Canada is a part of and research how Canada interacts with the global community. This is an excellent online activity to showcase many ways that Canada helps those in need in both normal circumstances and in new circumstances, including the current global pandemic, COVID-19.

Students are asked to:

a) choose an NGO to research: a document is linked for students to "sign up" for their NGO

b) research and answer scaffolded questions that investigate background information on their NGO, their goals and what projects the NGO is currently a part of

c) create a Google Slide that shares the most important information about their NGO in collaborative class slides (a slide document is linked to help get you started, including an example slide)

d) complete a reflection using Google Forms (linked in Teacher Instructions)

I have included TWO possible assessment options:

-in school presentation rubric that assesses oral presentation skills and presentation content

-at home (distance learning) single point rubric that reviews content and reflection
